AI Marketing Tools We Actually Use Every Day at Growth Lab

Not a Generic List — Our Actual Daily Stack

The internet is full of "Top 50 AI Marketing Tools" lists written by people who have never used half the tools they recommend. This article is different.

At Growth Lab, we are an AI marketing agency based in Montreal. AI is not a buzzword for us — it is the core of our daily operation. Every tool mentioned here is something we use every day or every week to serve our clients, who have collectively generated over $10M in revenue.

Here is exactly what we use, why, and how it fits into our workflow.

Copywriting and Content Creation

Claude (Anthropic)

Use: Long-form content, strategy, analysis

Claude is our primary tool for substantive content. Blog articles, service pages, marketing strategies, data analysis — Claude excels at tasks requiring depth and nuance. Its ability to process long documents and maintain consistency across extended text is unmatched.

How we use it: We provide client context (persona, tone of voice, goals), performance data, and a detailed brief. Claude produces first drafts that need 20-30% human revision, not 80%.

ChatGPT (OpenAI)

Use: Rapid ideation, ad copy variations, brainstorming

For tasks requiring volume and speed — 15 headline variants, 10 email hook angles — ChatGPT is fast and reliable. We use it as an idea machine, not a final writer.

Grammarly

Use: Final revision, tone consistency

Every piece of text goes through Grammarly before publication. Not just for grammar, but for tone, readability, and stylistic consistency. It catches errors that even the best human editors miss after hours of writing.

Advertising and Creative

Meta Ads Manager + Built-In AI

Use: Facebook and Instagram campaign management

Meta's built-in AI for bid and targeting optimization has improved dramatically. We use Advantage+ for eCommerce and AI-enhanced Lookalike audiences for services. The algorithm does strong work when given the right conversion signals.

Midjourney / DALL-E

Use: Visual concepts and ad creative mockups

We use AI image generation to create concepts quickly — not as final product, but as a starting point for the creative brief. It dramatically accelerates the conceptualization phase with clients.

AdCreative.ai

Use: Banner variants and ad creative generation

For rapidly generating dozens of ad creative variants to test. The tool produces formats optimized for every placement (Stories, Feed, Reels) in minutes rather than hours.

Analytics and Data

Google Analytics 4 + Looker Studio

Use: Dashboards and performance analysis

GA4 with its AI features (automated insights, audience predictions) is our analytical foundation. Combined with Looker Studio for client reports, we get dashboards that automatically highlight anomalies and trends.

Hotjar

Use: Behavioral analysis and heatmaps

Hotjar's AI for automatic session segmentation and friction detection is valuable. We use it to quickly identify why a page is not converting, without manually analyzing hundreds of sessions.

SEMrush

Use: Keyword research, SEO audits, competitive analysis

SEMrush's AI features for keyword research and optimization recommendations save us hours. The built-in SEO writing tool is useful for validating content optimization before publishing.

CRM and Automation

GoHighLevel

Use: CRM, marketing automation, lead tracking

Our central platform for client lead management. Workflow automation — follow-up sequences, lead scoring, notifications — is the nervous system of our operation. When a lead enters through a Facebook form, the system automatically triggers SMS, email, and sales team notification.

Zapier

Use: Cross-platform integration

The glue that holds everything together. Zapier connects our Facebook Lead Ads to the CRM, syncs data between platforms, and automates repetitive tasks. With Zapier's newer AI features, we can even configure automations in natural language.

Email Marketing

Klaviyo

Use: eCommerce email marketing, automated flows

For our eCommerce clients, Klaviyo is unbeatable. Predictive segmentation AI, optimized send timing, and dynamic content personalization increase revenue from every email sent. We achieve 4%+ conversion rates on automated flows for our top clients.

The AI Features We Actually Use in Klaviyo

  • Predicted next purchase date
  • Churn probability segmentation
  • Per-contact send time optimization
  • AI-suggested subject lines (as a starting point)

What We Do NOT Use (And Why)

Transparency matters. Here are popular tools we tested and dropped:

  • Jasper AI: Too generic for our needs. Content lacks depth and requires too much revision.
  • Copy.ai: Good for quick snippets, but not powerful enough for strategic content.
  • Surfer SEO: Useful in theory, but keyword density recommendations can lead to stuffing. SEMrush does it better.

Our Philosophy: AI as Amplifier, Not Replacement

None of these tools runs on autopilot. Our team brings strategy, client knowledge, creativity, and judgment. AI accelerates execution and processes data at a scale impossible for humans alone.

It is this combination that allows us to consistently deliver results like 5x+ ROAS and 4%+ conversion rates.
